Geuder Hattenbach Instrument Set

  • Flexible anterior chamber access via an incision or paracentesis
  • Maintenance of maximum anterior chamber stability
  • Flattening of the anterior chamber due to the flow of viscoelastic is not possible
  • Specially designed for narrow anterior chambers
  • "Spreading" of the incision due to opening and closing of the jaws is avoided

In cooperation with Prof. Hattenbach Geuder has developed a new instrument series "Hybrid" that combines the familiar 25 gauge format with a handle proven for anterior segment surgery.

The centerpiece of the series is the capsulorhexis forceps (25 gauge) with a vitrectomy forceps design that has a standard angled anterior segment grip with a short, straight shaft but nevertheless functions exactly like a vitrectomy forceps. This instrument allows flexible access to the anterior chamber via an incision or paracentesis with maximal stability. The shape of the forceps allows safe, controlled gripping and wielding of the capsule.

Further instruments in this series include 25 gauge hybrid capsulorhexis scissors and 25 gauge hybrid ligature forceps.
